Rajasthan's beautiful ‘Pink City’ Jaipur, was the stronghold of a clan of rulers whose three hill forts and series of palaces in the city are important attractions. Jaipur got its name “The Pink City” when, in 1876, Maharaja Ram Singh had most of the buildings painted pink which is the color of hospitality.

Jaipur's bazaars sell items for which Jaipur is famous for and include textile (embroidered, sanganeri print and bandhej-"tie and dye"), Jaipuri Kurti, Jaipuri shoes (Juti), Jaipuri Rajai (quilt), jewellary (Kundan, theva and meenakari), semi-precious stones, blue pottery andother exotic wares. Western Rajasthan itself forms a convenient circuit, a part of famous golden triangle and remains an attraction for tourists across the globe.
